SLIDING DOORS
The strength of an aluminium profile ensures that individual panels can be made well over five square meters. The sleek and thin sightlines are ideal if you have an amazing vista that demands minimal intrusion from the glazing product.
When using large glazed panels, access and installation method should be carefully considered. If you are in a Central London location where access can be limited, cranes can make this type of installation excessively expensive, bi-folding doors maybe a better choice in this instance.
If you have excellent access and a large plot with uninterrupted views, then sliding doors are an obvious choice.
The glass type should be carefully considered when there is such an expanse of translucent material being specified. The aspect should be noted and a glazing product selected should perform to suit that aspect.
For example, north facing areas should use glass with a low centre pane u-value, goods thermal properties are key. The unit should have high light transmission properties to ensure the north facing room feels bright.
If the aspect is south facing, a glass unit should have glare reducing properties as well as heat reflection capabilities, using a laminated glass unit will also help filter harmful UV rays responsible for fading expensive furniture.
